Logge
A personal passion project: creating a complete brand identity, interior styling, and marketing strategy for a renovated 1970s A-frame Airbnb on the Oregon coast.
Overview
In 2021, my family took a crazy leap and renovated a 1970s A-frame in Oceanside, Oregon for Airbnb. This wasn't just a real estate project—it was an opportunity to apply brand thinking, design strategy, and creative direction to something deeply personal. And an major shoutout to the MVPs of the project—our then five year-old and toddler who were helping every step of the way.
After the renovation was complete, we created a complete brand, decorated the space with our own art, styled every corner with intention, and directed a photoshoot with photographer Carina Skrobecki to market the property. The result was Logge—a coastal retreat with a cohesive visual identity and authentic personality.

THE CHALLENGE
Standing out in a Crowded Market
The Oregon coast has no shortage of vacation rentals. To stand out, Logge needed more than just good design—it needed a clear identity that would resonate with our guests and create a memorable experience from the first moment they discovered the listing.
We also had the practical challenge of working within a renovation budget while creating something that felt special, authentic, and worth the investment. We were newbies at this
THE APPROACH
Brand-First Thinking
Rather than treating this as just a typical vacation rental, we approached Logge as a complete brand experience. Every decision—from the name (meaning pile of sticks) to the color palette (yellow = happy = vacay!) to the art on the walls (weird and wonderful)—was made with intention and consistency.
We leaned into the nostalgia and eclectic style for this refreshed 1970s A-frame while creating a modern, comfortable atmosphere aiming to feel both elevated and unpretentious—exactly the kind of coastal getaway we'd want to experience ourselves.
The Process
-
It was love at first site when we saw the a-frame listing. An expert real estate helped us win the offer, the real work of our first self-contracted renovation began. Think moving clawfoot tubs late into the night, a hot tub suspended from a crane, and tile samples galore, some chose by the kids.
-
We chose "Logge" (Old Italian for pile of sticks) as an ironic nod to the fact that yes houses are simply a pile of sticks, but homes are so much more. We wanted guests to experience that warm feeling of home and all the good vibes that come with it. The name felt authentic to the A-frame aesthetic and felt cute, happy, and cozy.
-
Created a simple, modern logo and visual system that could work across all touchpoints—from welcome books to our yellow sign. The identity is meant to be vibey, eclectic and unique with clean, contemporary design.
-
Decorated the entire space with our own artwork and carefully selected pieces that reinforced the brand aesthetic. Every room tells a cohesive story—comfortable with carefully curated books without being overly themed or trendy.
-
Collaborated with photographer Carina Skrobecki to capture the space in a way that felt authentic and inviting. Art directed the shoot to ensure every image communicated the Logge brand—warm light, natural textures, and genuine coastal living.
-
Built Instagram presence (@logge.oceanside) and Airbnb listing with consistent brand voice and visual storytelling. The photography and brand identity work together to attract guests who appreciate thoughtful design and authentic experiences.
Pile of Sticks
Logge comes from old Italian and means “pile of sticks”—that’s all a house is, right? But really they are so much more. The moments that take place inside—making memories, fun and relaxation, and quality time with loved ones—make it a home. That’s why we take vacation very seriously and feel privileged to share our little home on the coast with our Airbnb guests.
We take vacation very seriously.
Everything we created for Logge came back to the idea that fun is serious business. From the social media presence to signs and our booklet and even the WIFI password, we really care that the experience is happy and memorable and leaves our guests ready to take on all the challenges of “real” life back home.
